// HELLO WORLD
Walen.
Systems Software Engineer
I work in computer science and systems engineering—compilers, tooling, and systems design—where performance, correctness, and clear interfaces matter. I also build music/audio software and study DSP, and I’m interested in cognitive science and design (including analytics and business fundamentals) as practical lenses for making software more usable and effective.
// ABOUT
Who I am.
My primary focus is computer science and systems engineering—building reliable software, understanding performance, and designing systems that stay maintainable as they grow.
I’m especially drawn to compilers and developer tools: parsing, IRs, runtimes, and the infrastructure that shapes how people build. I like working close to fundamentals (C, assembly, and low-level debugging) when it helps simplify a system or make it more correct.
I care a lot about effective thinking and planning—how to structure work, define interfaces, and make complex systems understandable. That naturally pulls me toward system design and the mechanics of organization in both code and process.
Music and audio are my strongest secondary track. I build audio software and study DSP with an emphasis on real constraints like latency, stability, and the details that make sound feel right.
I’m also interested in cognitive science and design as practical disciplines for building technology that fits human attention and decision-making. That cluster also includes business and economics fundamentals, marketing, and analytics—useful for understanding how products are adopted and improved.
